Question
asalam I have a question please I have a money us dollars in my electronic bank account they are called e wallet and I wanna send this money to another ewallet which I own and I found an exhanger who do that I mean transfer your money from an e wallet to another and he do it with 4 fees so I just wanna know if it is allowed?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Apparently, there is no harm in paying fixed fees in return for the service of transferring money from one e-wallet to another as long as this does not involve any deceit or fraud. We have underlined in previous Fataawa that electronic money is considered currency in an electronic form, unlike the common banknote or coin form, and that there is no harm in using it in lawful transactions.
