The two testimonies of faith being linked together

Question

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may his blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Dear Sheikh my question is about Universe testifying that there is No God Except All Mighty Allah (عز و جل) and Prophet Muhammad ( ) is his messenger. According to my point of view can I say that the universe is testifying about All Mighty Allah (عز و جل) and his beloved Prophet Muhammad ( ). I was just wondering and suddenly a thing came into my mind that most of the universe has two phase. If there is Sun there is Moon, if there is night there is day, even in human body if we see we have two eyes, two ears, two eyebrows, we have two hands, two feet’s, internally we have two brains, two lungs, two livers, we have two parents i.e. mother and father. If Allah swt wishes we could have more that two eyes, more than two hand, more than two legs etc. but most of things hints about the Shahada of two thing about the supreme power All Mighty Allah (عز و جل) and his Prophet Muhammad ( ). Also secondly I would like to ask Trinity. Can we Muslims claim Trinity by stating the Trinity 1) All Mighty Allah (عز و جل), 2) our great Prophet Muhammad ( ), 3) The Glorious Quran. Can we say that the devil (Iblees) changed this Trinity into the false Trinity which the Christians claim ?. Can you please advise. Jazakaallahu Khaira

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

We are not aware of any evidence about this in the statements of the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them. The Two Testimonies of Faith being linked together do not require from a Muslim to suppose things which do not exist. We do not know from where you got this, that a man has two brains and two livers. Indeed, the textual evidence [from the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention )] and the logic about the Oneness of Allaah are so many, as well as about the truthfulness of the Prophecy of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). For more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 85461 and 85755.

However, it is more proper for a Muslim to learn the meaning of these Two Testimonies of Faith and act according to them by singling out Allaah alone for worship and by adhering only to the way of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ).

As regards trinity, then this concept is void in principle and it contradicts the religious texts and logic. This is based on exaggerating in extolling the Prophet, ‘Eesa (Jesus) may Allaah exalt his mention and raising him to the level of being a God. If one follows this way, he imitates the Christians in a matter that is void in principle. What is worse is that this may even lead to extolling our Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) in the same way they did with their Prophet may Allaah exalt his mention.

It is in this context that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) warned us against this saying: ''Do not extol me as did the Christians extol ‘Eesa the son of Mary, may Allaah exalt their mention; I am only a slave, so say ‘the Slave of Allaah and His Messenger’.’’

For more benefit on the falseness of the trinity, please refer to Fatwa 84277.

Finally, it should be mentioned that it is better for a Muslim to preoccupy himself with what benefits him with regard to his religion and his worldly matters; it is enough for him to follow in the footsteps of the Salaf (righteous predecessors) and the former scholars of this nation and to adhere to their way of understanding Islam.

Allaah Knows best.
