The Book of Allaah: a cure for all ills

Question

My wife has been suffering from distress, apathy and headache for one year. When she reads the Quran, she feels as if something is moving in her body and eyes. We performed the Shar‘i Ruqyah (Quranic treatment in accordance with the Sharee’ah) on her but without result. Once this is done her condition worsens in the first and second days, then, it improves slightly later. Please, advise. May Allaah reward you.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

We implore Allaah The Almighty to cure your wife of her sufferings. Please note that you should pursue the means of her treatment. That is:

  • Resorting to Allaah The Almighty and supplicating to Him.
  • Making use of the times when supplications are more likely to be answered. This is because Allaah The Almighty is the only One able to cure her.
  • Observing the Athkaar (mentionings of Allaah) of the morning and evening regularly.
  • Remembering and mentioning Allaah The Almighty much.
  • Doing many acts of worship such as performing prayers, giving charity, being dutiful to parents, maintaining kinship ties and others.
  • Reciting the Quran: the Book of Allaah The Almighty, particularly, Chapters Al-Baqarah and the Mu‘awwithaat (Al-Ikhlaas, Al-Falaq and An-Naas), for they are a remedy for all known and unknown ills. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And We send down of the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.} [Quran 17:82]

It should also be noted that there is no blame in seeking the help of a righteous and pious person to perform Ruqyah. In the meantime, we recommend that you go to specialized doctors; perhaps she is suffering from a physical disease that requires diagnosis and medication.

Allaah Knows best.
