I need Fatawa on the following issue:Hadith and Daleel about greeting with "AL-Salaamu Alaikum" followed by "Good Morning".
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
There is no harm in using common expressions of greeting like 'good morning' or 'good evening' after using the Islamic expression of greeting, i.e. al-Salamu Alaikum. Yet, it would be considered from the good talk which itself is a good act. We may mention here the Hadith reported by Imam Ibn Majah with weakness in the chain as Ibn Muflih pointed out, that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) visited al-Abbas (Radiya Allahu Anhu) and said: "al-Salamu Alaikum". They replied, "Wa Alaikum al-Salam wa Rahmatu Allahi wa Barakatuhu". Then he said: 'How did you enter upon the morning?' They replied, 'With goodness by the grace of Allah" .
Allah Knows best.
