Question
Salaam Alaikum My question is regarding about umrah. Can me and my wife go umrah with kids from kids money because in UK government give us money for u r children that call tax credits. Child tax ccredits. So can I take my family with kids money and kids are going too for umrah as well.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
There is no harm in you and your wife taking from your children’s money in order to pay the expenses of ‘Umrah on condition that it would not cause harm or constitute injustice to them or that you would take from one of the children to pay the expenses of ‘Umrah for another child. Scholars underlined that the father is entitled to take from his children’s wealth provided that certain conditions are fulfilled.
Ibn Qudaamah 
wrote: “Scholars held that if he (the child) has wealth, the father has the right to take whatever he wants from it and to keep it in his possession whether he needs it or not and whether the child is young or old, provided that two conditions are met:
The first condition: that by taking it he does not cause harm to his child or take something that the child needs.
The second condition: he should not take the wealth from one of his children in order to give it to another."
Scholars brought forth the following Hadeeth as evidence that the father has the right to take from his children’s wealth. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “You and your property belong to your father; your children come from the best of what you earn; so enjoy from the earning of your children.” [Ahmad and Abu Daawood]
Some scholars maintained that the mother is also entitled to take from her children’s wealth. However, other scholars held that she does not have that right and that this is peculiar to the father. The first opinion is the preponderant one in our view in Islamweb. Imaam Is-haaq ibn Raahawayh said, “Whenever the mother needs money, she is entitled to take from her children’s wealth to buy her needs just like the father.”
Hence, it is permissible for you and your wife to take from the wealth of your children to perform ‘Umrah provided that the previously mentioned conditions are fulfilled.
