Da‘wah through PalTalk

Question

Is the program PalTalk useful in Da‘wah? How can I use it? Will using such a well-known program be fruitful, Allaah willing?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

One of the blessings of Allaah The Almighty is that he has employed the entire universe for us so that we can achieve the purpose we were created for, which is worshipping Him. One of these things is computers, the internet and all modern means of communication so that the message of Islam will be spread everywhere. This proves what was narrated that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, told us that the religion of Islam would spread everywhere and would enter every house, to the extent that Allaah The Almighty would honor all those who embrace Islam and humiliate all disbelievers, who would then submit to Islam and pay Jizyah. [Ahmad, Ibn Hibbaan and Al-Haakim]

Some callers to Allaah used this program for Da‘wah by arguing with atheists and Christians. These discussions are useful, but there are numerous restrictions in using the PalTalk chat rooms for Da‘wah:

Firstly, the person who calls to Allaah The Almighty should not talk freely with women because it is better for women to be advised by women. Besides, there are many men who are straying from the right path who form a broad audience for the person who gives Da‘wah.

Secondly, a caller should not argue with atheists or Christians unless he is qualified to refute their arguments and convince them to believe in Allaah, the Lord of the worlds, otherwise these arguments will be in vain and their malicious allegations may sneak into the person’s heart and corrupt him.

Thirdly, these discussions should not hinder performing other obligations, such as prayers. This is because the people involved are from different countries and there are differences in prayer timings.

We urge you to be keen to acquire useful knowledge at this stage of your life and to practice Da‘wah with those close to you, such as your parents, relatives, neighbors and school colleagues, before starting to call others.

Please do not allow the computer and the internet to consume all your energy.

Allaah Knows best.
