Question:

What are the conditions for an acceptable Hajj according to Sunnah?
Fatwa:
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, may Allah exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) said: "Umrah (minor pilgrimage) to Umrah is an expiation to the sins committed by the person between them, and an accepted Hajj (pilgrimage) has no lesser reward than Paradise." The scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, differed about the meaning of an accepted Hajj but their statements in this matter are close to each other. Al-Qurtubee, may Allah have mercy on him, said: 'The statements that have been reported regarding the interpretation of the meaning of an accepted Hajj are close to each other, and that it is a Hajj which fulfilled all its requirements whereby the pubescent fulfils all his duties to the best of his abilities and Allah knows best.' For more conditions of an acceptable Hajj, please refer to Fatwa: 81549.
Allah Knows best.
