The husband of your first wife's daughter is not a Mahram to your second wife

Question:

Asalam alaikum
My question is I have two wives and my daughter is getting married soon insha'Allah so will my son in law be able to see my second wife without hijab does she have to cover herself in front of my son in law because my daughter is from my first wife my second wife does not have any children with me so does my second wife have to cover herself in front of my son inlaw hope you understand my question shukran

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

 

The husband of your daughter is not a Mahram to your second wife, and the latter is not permitted to expose her adornment in front of him, and she is obliged to wear Hijab in front of him. It is your first wife who becomes non-marriageable for him as soon as the marriage contract with her daughter is conducted as Allaah Says (what means): {and your wives’ mothers}[Quran 4:23]
