Whispers about Received Allowance

Question:

Assalamu AlaykumI have a question regarding an assistance allowance i received from an organisation over a 2 year period that helps people who are working or studying. They have specific eligibility requirements in order to receive these payments. Recently I have been overcome with a wiswaas that i did not fullfill these requirements (for eg did not count my weekly work hours correctly, or that i forgot, or that I didnt know the requirements well when i initially applied for the allowance), and I am now very confused as I do not remember what i did week by week over a 2 year span. when I initially had this whispering I was sure that i met the requirements, but the more i thought about it, the more I doubted and I fear that my earnings are haraam. Is it ok to ignore these whispers since i suffer from wiswaas, or am i sinful as this has to do with the rights of others?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The correct course of action to take is to ignore these whispers that you have after you have been certain that you have fulfilled the requirements of the aforementioned assistance.

You are not sinful for ignoring these whispers. Rather, you must ignore them because they are a disease and the best cure is to repel and ignore them.

Allah knows best.
