Question:

what was the mahar of fatima and what is value willbe in these days

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

'Ali may Allaah be pleased with him said: "I married Faatimah may Allaah be pleased with her and I said: "O Prophet of Allaah, facilitate for me consummating my marriage." He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "Give her something (i.e. dowry)." I replied: "I do not have anything to give her." He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) asked: "Where is your Hitami shield?" I said: “I still have it.” He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "Give it to her." [Abu Daawood, At-Tirmithi, An-Nasaa'i]

'Ali may Allaah be pleased with him said that the price of the shield was 400 Dirham (silver currency). [Al-Bayhaqi]. And the Arabic Dirham equals 2,975 g, therefore, the price of the shield in silver grams is 1190 g, and the price of the silver gram nowadays varies from one country to another.

Allaah Knows best.
