Question: I am a Muslim lady and I would like to go for Hajj. Do I need a Mahram to do it? I wanted to know if I could go with my mother and my cousin who is also my brother in-law? Some people say it is ok because I am going with a group? I also have a friend who is a Muslim but because she was born in this country (UK) never really practised her religion. She is trying her best to practise and she wanted to perform Hajj and come with us. She is not married and her family are not into religion. She really needs to do it as she is saying this as the first step in the right direction and a whole new beginning for her.
What we really want is to know the ruling since some scholars are saying that it is ok to go as we are going a group. If we did that is our Hajj going to be accepted or we are doing something wrong.
