She feels lost, depressed and scared

Question

Assalam Alaikum…..I don’t know how to begin explaining my situation…im lost..
Im in so much pain.. Mentally. Every time I take a step forward, I take10 steps backwards…
For example, every time I want to attend college, something stops me…
I start to feel so much pressure and pain on my chest
And on my neck that all I want to do is scream soo hard and burst into tears……and hide from everyone and everything and curl up into a dark place….even tho I love going to college.. But because of this I stopped going…..
Whenever I want to buy something nice or even learn something new that’s going to help me in my life, I suddenly stop because of all the pain and pressure I feel inside me…my mind and heart just hate everything.
Even breathing!
Whenever I get the Quran and start reading it…I try to put my mind and heart into it, but I couldn’t…I seem to get farther away from it…I feel like someone is literally taking away something pure and innocent from my soul . I stop reading it .…it gets to the point where I cant even stand hearing the Quran or even seeing it…..I cant overcome the evil pain inside of me
And my tongue cant even mention any duaa…..it scares me
And all I want to do is cry soo much non stop…….
Whenever theres a happy moment in my life……instead of being happy, I feel terrible!
Please help me… I write to u with a broken soul and teary eyes….I feel so much sorrow for myself
I don’t want to lose myself…….why am I like this???
I cant live a normal life because of this…could this be because of an evil eye or black magic????? How can I treat myself???
Thank u soo much
May Allah reward u

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, we ask Allaah to relieve you from your distress, make for you a way out from your difficulty and cure you from what you experience as Allaah is the All-Hearer and He answers supplications.

Therefore, firstly, we advise you to earnestly supplicate Allaah; Allaah Says (what means): {Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations. Is there any Ilaah (god) with Allaah?'}[Quran 27:62]

Secondly, you should supplicate with the supplication of a person in distress. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "Allaahumma rahmataka arjo fala takilni ila nafsi tarfata 'ayn, wa aslih li sha'ni kullahu, la ilaaha illa ant."

"O Allaah, it is Your Mercy that I hope for, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for a blink of an eye and rectify for me all of my affairs. None has the right to be worshipped except You." [Ahmad and Abu Daawood]

However, we advise you to be patient because patience is of great status and it has many virtues as we clarified in Fataawa 83577 and 85445.

As regards the symptoms that you feel, they may be due to normal physical or psychological diseases, and it is the specialist doctors who know this. Also, it is likely that this is due to an evil eye, magic or being possessed by jinn as we clarified in Fataawa 84806 and 82978.

Therefore, if you predominantly think that it is a result of evil eye and the like, then you should perform Ruqyah and it is permissible for some righteous people to perform Ruqyah on you. For more benefit on Ruqyah, please refer to Fataawa 85500 and 88705.

Also, among the matters that will help in your treatment is to repent and seek the Forgiveness of Allaah as much as possible, perform good deeds and observe the morning and evening mention of Allaah.

Allaah Knows best.
