Distributing Islamic leaflets and booklets among Muslims

Question

I am a girl who is hurt seeing Muslims' conditions of apathy, even in the performance of prayer. I tried to do something for Islam so I photocopied some parts from the books I have that deal with the punishment for abandoning the performance of prayer and on the reward and torment in the grave. I made some copies and distributed them among those I know, men and women. But I feel that none cared enough even to have a look at it. Should I stop doing this?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

May Allaah reward you best for your concern to guide people and enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil. We implore Allaah to reward you and make you and us among those who are guided and who guide people.

Do not despair of people's response to virtue, for it was said before 'Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab may Allaah be pleased with him embraced Islam that he would never do so. But Allaah guided him until he became the known righteous ‘Umar Al-Faarooq may Allaah be pleased with him.

There are many ways of Da‘wah, such as giving out leaflets, booklets, tapes, face-to-face Da‘wah and others means. It is possible to distribute leaflets among males and females, but do not give them to men directly. You may do so through a female Mahram of theirs, your husband or a male Mahram of yours.

Allaah Knows best.
