Question
What is demonic possession? How can magic and envy affect man and how can he protect himself from their effect? What is the role of the Jinn here? Is it true that a Jinn can fall in love with a human being? If yes, then how can one get rid of him? Sometimes I feel a tremor when I am about to sleep and I cannot speak or move despite being aware of everything around me.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
First of all, we ask Allaah The Almighty to grant you recovery. What you mentioned could either be a physical illness or the effect of an evil eye, magic or demonic possession. Therefore, it is recommended that you seek the advice of physicians together with performing the Sharee‘ah-approved Ruqyah (Quranic healing). If it turns out that you do not have any physical illness, then continue to perform Ruqyah or ask someone who is known for his religiousness and righteousness to recite it over you, so as to protect yourself from the devil and his schemes.
