Mixing with person wearing clothes with words of disbelief written on them

Question

If a person has something written on their clothing that represents disbelief and another person socializes with that person, are they doing anything wrong?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

It is impermissible to wear what carries words or statements that represent disbelief. If the person wearing them knows that they represent disbelief, he must repent to Allah, The Exalted. Whoever sees him must draw his attention to this out of the obligation to offer sincere advice to fellow Muslims. And if the person wearing such clothes knows that they represent disbelief, then whoever sees him should denounce this out of the obligation of forbidding evil. Please, refer to fatwa 18611 about the obligation of changing evils to the best of one's abilities.

Allah knows best.
