Whispers Related to Fasting

Question

Assalamu alaykum, please answer this question without referring as I think it is unique and it will relieve my anxiety to hear back from your personally in shaa Allah.I suffer from waswas and I try to safeguard my fasts, however, there are two situations which occured which I need to know if they invalidated my fast please. Issue 1: I was in the kitchen and was breathing through my nose and suddenly I thought I was breathing steam, I didnt stop even though i knew this breaks the fast and when I looked there was no steam at all. Rather I only thought there was steam. Does this mean I formed an intention to break the fast and thereby invalidated it?Issue 2: In my sleep during Ramadan I felt something in my throat and tried to swallow it down even though I know that eating breaks the fast, It appeared to only be my saliva though. Does this break the fast because I had a reduced consciousness due to sleep? May Allah reward you in abundance, please help me as I suffer from much anxiety. How can I reduce these things from hapenning?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, you must ignore these whispers and pay no attention to them.

You must know that you will not rid these illusions except by ignoring these whispers and totally abandoning them. The fast of the two days you mentioned is correct and there is no effect of the things you stated on the validity of your fast.

Therefore, there is no need for you to worry, as these are nothing but whispers, the cure from which is by simply ignoring them.

Allah knows best.
