If the Place of Impurity Is Known, It Is Sufficient to Wash That Place

Question

Assalamu Alaikum,I take off my clothes which have impurity after entering the bathroom during the obligatory bath. Then, after washing the impurity of my body, I wash my mouth and nose and take a bath naked. I wash those impure clothes after bathing. If impure water splashes on me while washing these clothes, do I have to take a shower again? Or it will be sufficient to wash that part with water.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The water that flows from the impure clothes before the impurity is removed is considered impure. If you are stained with some of this water, then wash only the place that is stained with the impure water. You do not have to wash your whole body, because if the location of the impurity is known, it is sufficient to wash that very location. Al-Akhdari, from the Maliki School of jurisprudence, said in his Mukhtasar: “If the place of the impurity is known, it is sufficient to wash that place.

However, if you doubt about the impure water having stained your body, or your clothes, then you are not obliged to wash anything.

But if the impurity is removed from the impure clothes, and there is no longer any trace of color or wind, then the water that flows from that garment is considered pure; therefore, you do not have to wash it from your body or your garment.

We advise you to beware of whispers, for it is a dangerous disease; so avoid it, and do not pay any attention to it.

Allah knows best.
