Question
Assalamualiakum. Recently I have blessed with a baby girl Alhamdulillah. I named her "Afna Ayamin" Is the name "Ayamin" an Islamic name or not? JazakAllah khairan.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
You should know that there are good names that Sharee'ah has encouraged to name a child with, such as the names of 'Abdullah, Abdur-Rahman, Muhammad and the names of the prophets. These are recommended names as in the hadeeth: “Call yourselves by the names of the Prophets. The dearest names to Allah are Abdullah and Abdur-Rahman, the truest are Harith (the cultivator) and Hammam (always thinking of initiating something) and the worst are Harb (war) and Murrah (bitter).” [Abu Dawood and others]
As for the names which are not encouraged in Sharee'ah, they may be either permissible, disliked or forbidden to name with.
The name mentioned in the question is not a name the Sharee'ah has encouraged to name with. But, as per our knowledge, there is no religious impediment to naming the girl with it, as long as the name does not contain an Islamically reprehensible meaning and is not one that is specific to non-Muslims.
