Assalamu Alaikum Maulana. I organize football sessions and charge QR12 per player, while the actual pitch cost may be around QR6 per player, with the difference being my profit. I sometimes give certain players discounts (e.g. QR5 or QR10) from my profit while others pay QR12, without informing everyone about the different prices. I don't claim that QR12 is the pitch cost. Is this permissible in Islam? Do I need to disclose my actual costs, profit, or other players' discounts?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (ﷺ) is His slave and Messenger.
You have not clarified for us on what basis you collect the stated amount from each of the players. Therefore, we will assume that you are an agent acting on their behalf in booking the pitch, and that you also organize the match for a fee. If this is the actual situation, then you are not entitled to take from them, or from any one of them, anything in return for the booking except its actual cost, because you are an agent here, and you are entitled only to a fee for the service you perform on their behalf.
As for the fee for organizing the match and the like, it is according to what you agree upon with them. Whatever you take from them as a fee beyond what was agreed upon is not yours. As for what does not exceed your fee, it is your right: you may waive part of it for whomever you wish among them, or give it to whomever you wish.
In short, what you have taken from the players is not profit to be disposed of however you please. You are entitled to only as much of it as the fee you agreed upon for what they need, whether that be organizing the match or renting the pitch on their behalf.
Allah Knows best.
