Question
WHAT IS THE ISLAMIC RULE REGARDING PILOTS WEARING A BEARD?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. My dear brother: your perfect example in this life is the Messenger of Allah. Allah says:(indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow….” You should not take your religion from any body but Prophet Muhammad(Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). You want to prove some thing on the basis of performance of pilots, if they are doing something wrong you should not follow them in their mistakes. There is no doubt that a Muslim pilot who follows the teachings of Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is best .If there are any mistakes from such a pilot they may be tolerated. But we will direct him not to do mistakes. Indeed you know shaving beard is forbidden in Islam. Try your best not to violate this SUNNA. We ask Allah to fulfill your desire, since Allah has blessed and bestowed on you, and you became a pilot, then we hope, you will make every effort to change all these abominations, like selling and drinking intoxicants, listening to music, and watching dissolute films. These things are more harmful for people than every thing else. Allah knows best.
