Question

1- Is it permissible for you to pluck your eyebrows if your husband wishes that you do so, and what are the evidences.2- Is it permissible to take photographs at all; are there any exceptions if related to work?

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

1. Plucking, shaving or removing the hair of eyebrows is not permissible for any reason in Shariah. No creature is to be obeyed in disobedience to Allah. For more details, please refer to Fatawa: 81950, 81968 and 82748.

2. Taking photographs of human beings is forbidden in Shariah, unless there is a legal necessity for doing so. For more details please refer to Fatawa: 81245, 81509 and 82040.
