Can a maternal uncle see his nephew's wife?

Question

Is it permissible for my maternal uncle to see my wife?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

It is not permissible for your maternal uncle to see any part of the body of your wife. He is like other non-Mahram (marriageable) men unless he is permanently forbidden to marry her because of blood ties, breastfeeding or ties through marriage. If he is included in one of these categories, then he is allowed to see from her what other Mahrams other than her husband can see, such as her hands, feet, head and neck, provided that no temptation is feared, otherwise, this is not permissible.

Allaah Knows best.
