Wants to marry but had no family to help her

Question

I would like to marry soon but I haven't any family to assist in such a matter. How am I supposed to go about such an ordeal?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

We cannot understand what you mean by "I haven't family…"

If you are living in a Muslim country and there is an Islamic court, consult the court; they will marry you off.

If you are a new Muslim and do not have any male Muslim relative in your family who can be your guardian, then you have to consult with any Islamic center in your area, the Muslim community will act as your guardian in the case of your marriage.

If you are living alone in a non-Muslim country and you have your family i.e. father, brother, etc. in another country then they have to appoint someone legally to act on their behalf and to marry you off religiously. To know the ruling on living in non-Muslims countries refer to Fataawa: 83200 and 81642.

Allaah, the Glorified and the Exalted, knows best.
